Current:
- Since January 2005, I have been working full time at
Infiscape where I
hold the title of Vice President of Engineering. I am a
co-founder and co-owner of Infiscape.
Past:
- From January 1998 to December 2004, I was a research
assistant at the
Virtual Reality
Applications Center (VRAC), formerly known as ICEMT.
There I worked on VR
Juggler, an open source platform for the development of
virtual reality applications. In the process of doing that,
I wrote Tweek,
which now forms the basis for all Java GUIs being written
to operate with VR Juggler and related projects.
The most interesting projects I pursued (on my own time)
were
PyJuggler
and VRJ.NET.
For my master's thesis, I worked
on collaborative virtual reality applications using a
toolkit called
Octopus
under the direction of the esteemed
Dr. Carolina
Cruz-Neira. Sad to say, my Ph. D. did not work out.
- From late August 1995 until mid-July 1996, I worked in the
Iowa State
Computation Center Help Room. The Help Room is quite
an interesting place to work, to say the least.
- From mid-July 1996 until early January 1998, I was the
system administrator for the
GIS Facility in
Durham Center. I learned quite a lot about administering
computers in a networked environment on a small scale while
working there.
